Water Sports - Lac de Castillan & River Verdon
Fly St Andre is perched on a hill over looking Lac de Castillon. The lake is a delightful emerald/ blue colour and perfect spot to cool off in the heat of the summer days. Its great for the family or for a refreshing dip after an exciting adventure.
Most people head to the public beach just along the N202 towards Nice where there is plenty of parking, space to lay out your towels and easy access to the lake.
We can also let you know of other spots to get to the lake if you prefer a bit more quiet.
if you want to explore further we have a canoe to hire or you may be interested in the kayaks, pedalos, windsurfers and hobby-cats that are also available for hire locally.
The River Verdon flows into Lac de Castillon at St Andre and is released at the Barrage de Castillon to flow onto Castellane and the Verdon gorge.
Rafting takes place on the river throughout the summer below Castellane and is dependent on the flow of water released from the dam (usually 3 days per week during summer).
